Senior center welcomes fall with special activities and trips

The Osage County Senior Center is decorated for fall with a few fall activities planned. Join us on Sept. 19, 2015 for a bus ride to Emporia. The bus will be leaving the center at 10:45 a.m., travelling to Long John Silver’s for a delightful lunch. Following lunch it is time to shop Emporia, where you will find unique shops, antiques and boutiques. A $3 transit donation is requested prior to boarding and lunch costs will be the responsibility of each rider.

On Sept. 26 will be the Cider Days Festival, with an Osage County general public transportation trip to Topeka to the Expo Center for an adventure at the festival. Admission fee is $7 at the gate or $6 in advance. Call the senior center to reserve your spot and a $6 ticket at 785-528-4906. The bus will leave the center promptly at 9 a.m. Sept. 26. A $3 transit donation is requested prior to boarding.

Fall activities at the center will include celebrating the first day of autumn on Sept. 23! Come and enjoy your first fall treat of cookies and apple cider from 10 a.m.-12 p.m., and take time to meet and greet the staff. The nutrition site will have a noon meal for the cost of $3 for seniors and $5 for everyone else. It will be a nutritious meal of turkey roast, mashed potatoes, green beans, roll and fruit mix. Please reserve your meal in advance 785-528-4906. The senior center is at 604 Market St., Osage City. Don’t forget to wear your favorite fall colors!

  • Wednesday, Sept. 16 – Sewing 8 a.m., arm chair exercise 11 a.m.; birthday Lunch 12 p.m.; cribbage 12:15; blood pressure clinic after lunch.
  • Thursday, Sept. 17 – Art and Painting 9 a.m.
  • Friday, Sept. 18 – Bingo 10-11:30 a.m.; cribbage 12:15 p.m.
