The Lyndon Lions Club is looking for 25 individuals who think they can make the claim of best chili in Osage County, or even the eastern half of Kansas.

On October 3, in conjunction with the Lyndon fall festival, the Lions Club will sponsor the first “Roar for the Lions” chili competition at the festival.

Chris Zwilling, member of the Lyndon Lions and co-chair of the event, said individuals who sign up and provide five to eight quarts of chili for judging will have the opportunity back their claims with their chili.

A panel of judges will pick the top three entrants, and all of the chili provided will be available for the public to sample.

A small fee will be charged to those wishing to sample the various chili recipes and all proceeds will be used by the Lions Club for community projects.

More information will be provided in the near future including contest rules and an entry form.

Mark your calendars now for the Oct. 3 Lyndon Fall Fest and join the Lions Club in helping the Lyndon and Vassar communities.

Information thanks to Lyndon Lions Club.
