SOS domestic violence summit set for Oct. 6

Sexual assault is the focus of the 13th annual Domestic Violence Summit to be held 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, at the Flint Hills Technical College, Emporia.

Presenting at the Summit is David Lisak, Ph. D, a nationally recognized forensic consultant, trainer and lecturer. His research and applied forensic work on non-stranger rapists has helped guide rape prevention and response policies in major institutions, including the U.S. armed services and numerous colleges and universities.

Lisak, a survivor of childhood sexual abuse, has conducted research on male survivors of childhood sexual abuse that has helped focus public attention and spur new initiatives.

Attendees at the summit will have a better understanding of victim behavior, research on non-stranger rapists, and implications of offender research for case investigations.
