Take back day collects pounds of drugs for disposal

On Saturday, Sept. 26, 2015, the Osage County Sheriff’s Office collected 33 pounds and 4 ounces of prescription and over the counter medicines for disposal during the Drug Take Back Day event.

Monday morning the Osage County Sheriff’s Office turned over to the DEA a total of  74 pounds and 8 ounces of medication from Saturday’s event, a medication pickup in Scranton during “Bubba Day”, and one at the Osage County Senior Center in the past year.

“Thank you for those who brought in the old and unused medication,” said Osage County Sheriff Laurie Dunn. “Please watch for more drug take back events in the future.
