Street superintendent announces curb, ramp, roadway project in downtown Osage City

The City of Osage City, in conjunction with a KDOT KLINK Grant, will be excavating and replacing curb and sidewalk ramps between 4th and 7th Streets on Market Street/K-31 Highway. Milling the asphalt roadway and parking areas, then resurfacing the asphalt roadway and parking areas will follow. Painting parking stall stripes is also part of this project.

The signage will start Sunday, October 4. Excavation will start Monday, October 5, and Tuesday, October 6. Pouring sidewalk ramps and driveway entrances will follow Wednesday, October 7, to Saturday October 10. Monday, October 12, milling will begin one lane at a time. Contractors will have the driving lane and the parking area closed to traffic on the side of the street which they are working.   Traffic will be controlled by a pilot car escorting vehicles in the other lane. Once milling is done the same process will be used while contractors are overlaying each lane and for striping parking stalls. The total project should be completed by Saturday, October 17. Weather related issues may lengthen the project time.
