Janice Kay Clabaugh, 68, Burlingame: Aug. 16, 1947 – Sept. 26, 2015

BURLINGAME – Janice Kay Clabaugh, 68, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2015, at her home in Burlingame, Kan. She was born on Aug. 16, 1947, in Junction City, Kan., the daughter of Lawrence and Maxine Trainer Heskett.

Janice had lived most of her life in Topeka and then in Carbondale before moving to Burlingame four years ago.

She was a homemaker all of her life and a member of the Federated Church in Burlingame. She enjoyed gardening, canning, playing guitar and jigsaw puzzles. She loved her family and friends and taking care of all of them.

Janice was married to Wayne Clabaugh Jr., on Sept. 16, 1961, in Junction City. They divorced in August 1986.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, R.D. Heskett; and three sisters, Elaine Heskett, Jean Heskett and Betty Arbuthnott.

She is survived by her two sons, Wayne (Wendy) Clabaugh III, Clover, S.C., and Michael (Oralia) Clabaugh, Rialto, Calif.; two daughters, Brenda Freel (Larry Calvin), Burlingame, and Laura Clabaugh, of Kansas; her partner, Karen Baker, Burlingame; two sisters, Paula Test, Ponca City, Okla., and Patricia Heskett, Topeka; 13 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, at the Federated Church in Burlingame. The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 p.m. Friday at the Community Building at Townsite Apartments, in Burlingame.
