Geneva L. Booth, 87, Carbondale: March 21, 1928 – Oct. 5, 2015

CARBONDALE – Geneva L. Booth, 87, passed away on Monday, Oct. 5, 2015, at the Brookside Assisted Living, in Overbrook, Kan. She was born on March 21, 1928, in French Town, Ark., the daughter of William and Cora Carr Benton.

Geneva had lived in Carbondale from 1962 to 2004, when she moved to Topeka. She had lived in Topeka until moving to Brookside last year.

On Feb. 22, 1954, Geneva was married to Larncie “L.T.” Booth, in Salem, Ark.

Geneva had worked as a drapery designer most of her life. She attended the Emmanuel Baptist Church, in Topeka, and she loved camping and fishing with Larncie at all of the local lakes.

Geneva was preceded in death by L.T. on March 26, 2008; a son, Jerry Booth, on March 31, 2013; her parents, William and Cora; a brother, John Benton; and three sisters, May Coil, Freda Smith and Bobbie Mooney.

She is survived by her two sons, Allen Rich, of Auburn, and Bobby Booth, Burlingame; daughter, Debbie Booth, Melvern; brother, N.J. Benton, Salem, Ark.; two sisters, Anice Waltrip, Overbrook, and Zada Kennedy, Crossville, Tenn.; 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services for Geneva will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, at the Carbondale Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Feltner Funeral Chapel, in Lyndon.
