Billie JoAnn Lemberger, 78, Overbrook: Jan. 14, 1937 – Oct. 6, 2015

OVERBROOK – Billie JoAnn Lemberger, 78, of Overbrook, Kan., died Oct. 6, 2015, at Stormont-Vail Hospital. She was born Jan. 14, 1937, in Fredonia, Kan., the daughter of Boyd and Flossie (Thompson) Estes.

JoAnn attended Fredonia Schools. She was a bookkeeper for Heetco Inc., retiring after 21 1/2 years. She enjoyed sewing, creating porcelain dolls, having coffee with her friends, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She married Jack Smith in 1955 in Fredonia, and to whom five children were born. She later married Francis Lemberger in 1983. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Quinton Schutter.

She is survived by her children, Brian (Mona) Smith, of Frankfort, Lauri Smith, Jodi (Marty) Buchmeier and Brad Smith, all of Overbrook, and Karla Land, Auburn. Ten grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren also survive.

She will lie in state after 2 p.m. Friday at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Funeral service will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, at the Overbrook United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in the Overbrook Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Stormont-Vail Cancer Center or to the Osage County Fire District No. 4, sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW Sixth Ave., Topeka, KS 66603.
