Overbrook woman reports shooting intruder; injured suspect transported to hospital

100815-bruce-JollyThe Osage County Sheriff’s Office has issued a press release from the Overbrook Police Department, reporting that an Overbrook man was shot early Thursday morning by a resident.

The release said that at 12:35 a.m. Oct. 8, Osage County 911 was notified by a resident of Overbrook that an intruder had forced entry into her home, and the subject was shot and fled from the residence.

At 12:40 a.m., Osage County 911 received a call from Bruce Jolly, 48, of Overbrook, who had been shot and was at a neighbor’s house. Jolly was transported by Osage County EMS to Stormont Vail Hospital. This afternoon’s press release said Jolly’s condition is unknown at this time.

The police department reported that search warrants were conducted at both the Jolly residence and the victim’s residence to collect evidence.

“The person who shot Jolly was not injured and was not arrested,” the release said. “The victim’s name will not be released at this time.”

Osage County Sheriff Laurie Dunn later identified the resident as a female.

According to the release, the case has been turned over to the Osage County Attorney for formal charges against Jolly.
