Seniors should beware of phone scams

Because you never know what life may throw at you, a trusted and supportive group of friends can help you navigate the winding and exciting world of retirement. Socializing is good for the body and spirit. Your social circle will empower you to take on the world (and, as the song goes, thank them for being friends).

Don’t get hoodwinked! I have overheard a few conversations lately about people receiving strange phone calls on their cell phones in regard to the Internal Revenue Services, please note the “s” on the end. In fact I even took one of those phone calls for a gentleman who couldn’t hear very well. The caller was threatening a lawsuit. Please hang up and do not fall for a scam! Swindlers come in all varieties. Seniors are often the targets of such cons, so remember to never judge a book by its cover.
