November, a month for giving thanks

Ah, the month of November! So much to remember! It is time for Thanksgiving of course, which is a nice time to say thank you to all of the patrons of the Osage County Senior Center. Let’s not forget Veterans Day, the center will be closed but the nutrition site will be open, and a fabulous lunch of salmon patties, tomato rice soup, peaches, bread and a cookie will be served.

  • Nov. 5, 6-6:30 p.m. Chili supper, coleslaw, cinnamon rolls a fundraiser for Meals on Wheels, sponsored by the nutrition site council.
  • Nov. 11 – Holiday shopping trip to Oak Park Mall 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.; Veterans Day, senior center will be closed, but nutrition site open.
  • Nov. 17 – 9:30 a.m. Enjoy homemade bread, fruit spreads and coffee. Homemade bread made by our friends from COF.
  • Nov. 18 – 1 p.m. following the birthday dinner celebrate with us National Music Month with a presentation by Dr. Hershel Stroud, featuring Jump, Jive, and Swing an Era in America!
  • Nov. 20 – 1 p.m. Diabetes education.
  • Nov. 25 – 12 p.m. The nutrition site will be having a Thanksgiving meal.
  • Nov. 26, 27 – Senior center closed.
  • Nov. 28 – Christmas on Market.

  • Thursday, Nov. 5 – Art and painting 9 a.m., 5 p.m. chili supper.
  • Friday, Nov. 6 – Balloon volleyball 9 a.m., bingo 10-11:30 a.m., yoga 11 a.m., cribbage 12:15 p.m.
  • Monday, Nov. 9 – Sewing 8 a.m., armchair exercise 11 a.m., cribbage 12:15 p.m., play pitch and eat 5:15 p.m., cards begin at 5:45 p.m.
  • Tuesday, Nov. 10 – Ceramics 9 a.m., Mexican Train games 1 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Nov. 11 – Center closed, nutrition site open.
  • Thursday, Nov. 12 – Biscuits and gravy, art and painting 9 a.m.
  • Friday, Nov. 13 – Balloon volleyball 9 a.m., bingo 10-11:30 a.m., yoga 11 a.m., cribbage 12:15 p.m.
