OCPR Update: Holiday art workshop; junior high play auditions scheduled

OCPR-logo-redStudents pre-K through sixth grade are invited to create their own greeting cards, wrapping paper and other holiday inspired artwork during Osage City Parks and Recreation’s holiday art workshop. Other upcoming OCPR activities include auditions for the junior high play, softball pitching clinic, and youth basketball.

OCPR Softball Pitching Clinic
Instructor, OCHS Softball Head Coach, Tammy Serna, 14 years coaching high school level softball

  • 3rd-8th grade softball players.
  • Clinic dates, Nov. 18 – Dec. 2, 9, 16.
  • Clinic times, 6-6:30 p.m., 6:30-7 p.m., 7-7:30 p.m., 7:30-8 p.m.
  • Pitching Sessions are BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.
  • Pitchers MUST supply their own catcher for the session.
  • $5 per player, per pitching session.
  • Clinic payment due the day of the clinic.
  • Clinic location, Osage City Parks and Recreation Building, 517 S. First St., Osage City.

Youth Basketball (Pre-K and kindergarten, coed)
Basketball instructors: Kate and Lucas Boss.

  • Practice dates and times: 5-6 p.m. Sundays, Jan. 10-Feb. 21.
  • Location: Osage City junior high and high school gyms.
  • Players receive a team shirt and participation award.
  • Cost is $20 per player.
  • Signup deadline: Jan. 4

Holiday Art Workshop
Workshop instructor, Becky Weaver (USD 420 Osage City Elementary School Art Teacher).

  • Pre-K-2nd grade – Dec. 8, 3:30-5 p.m.
  • 3rd-6th grade – Dec. 9, 3:30-5 p.m.
  • Location, OCES Art Room.
  • Cost $15 per student.
  • Projects may include creating wrapping paper, Christmas cards, and other holiday inspired projects.
  • All projects will be available to take when your child leaves the workshop.
  • Reminder: Art can be messy – Please dress accordingly.
  • Signup forms will be sent through Osage City Elementary School, are available at Osage City Hall, are online at www.osagecity.com, and can be viewed and printed at the Osage City Facebook Page.

Junior High Play – “Into the Woods Jr.”

  • 6th, 7th, 8th grade students.
  • Play auditions: 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 15, and 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 16, at the high school choir room.
  • Students will read from the script and sing a song of their choice.
  • Students MUST audition at one of the two above sessions.
