Community Christmas tree planted at Osage County Courthouse

Osage County and the city of Lyndon now share a 14-foot-tall live blue Spruce Christmas tree, which was planted in the southwest corner of the lawn of the Osage County Courthouse.

The purchase, hauling, planting, lighting, and maintenance of the tree is a collaboration led by the local Masonic Lodge of Lyndon; other participants include Osage County, city of Lyndon, Citizens State Bank, Lyndon State Bank, Lyndon Pride, and Rockin Z Enterprises.

The tree was purchased and dug at Double Bar Pine Farms, in Alta Vista, and delivered and planted for all to enjoy on Dec. 17, 2015, reported Steve Zerr, of Lyndon, who organized the placement of the tree.

“May many generations enjoy and celebrate around it!” Zerr said. “Thank you and Merry Christmas, everyone!”
