JoAnn Mae Hanner, 82, Overbrook: Dec. 17, 1933 – March 20, 2016

OVERBROOK, Kan. – JoAnn Mae Hanner, 82, passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2016, at the Brookside Retirement Community, Overbrook, Kan. She was born on Dec. 17, 1933, the daughter of Ralph and Mae Dougan Richwine, in St. Joseph, Mo.

JoAnn grew up in St. Joe and had lived in the Overbrook community for the last 45 years. She worked at O’Bryhim’s Thriftway, in Overbrook, as an inventory manager for many years.

On May 2, 1953, JoAnn was married to Gene Hanner, in St. Joseph.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene, on Feb. 3, 2016; a granddaughter, Mariah Lehrbach; her parents, Ralph and Mae; and two brothers, George Richwine and Ralph Richwine.

JoAnn is survived by two sons, Ron Hanner, Overbrook, and David Hanner, Osage City, Kan.; two daughters, Patricia Ficklin, Tecumseh, Kan., and Cynthia Wagner, Carbondale, Kan.; a brother, Don Richwine, of Oregon; two sisters, Dorothy Mufich, Napa, Calif., and Joyce Metzger, Meriden, Kan.; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 3, at the Feltner Funeral Chapel, in Lyndon. The family will receive friends from 2:30 p.m. until service time. Inurnment will be in the Valley Brook Cemetery, south of Overbrook.
