Virgie Dee Sade, 92, Topeka: March 21, 1924 – April 3, 2016

TOPEKA – Virgie Dee Sade, 92, passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2016, at Manor Care in Topeka, Kan. She was born on March 21, 1924, in Clements, Kan., the daughter of Florus and Jessie Harlan Talkington.

Virgie had lived in El Dorado, Kan., and Emporia, Kan., and had been in Topeka for the last 30 years.

She was a homemaker most of her life, had provided cleaning services for commercial offices, and during World War II she was an aircraft riveter in Wichita, Kan. She had been a member of the Emporia Assembly of God.

Virgie was married to Charles Eggens, they later divorced. She married Kenneth Sade in November 1950, in El Dorado.

Virgie was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth on Aug. 15, 2001; her parents, Florus and Jessie; three brothers, Bud, Junior and Bobby Talkington; five sisters, Dorothy Parsons, Flora Casper, Dora Faunce, Ethel Scheve and Edna Dwire; and a great-granddaughter and a great-grandson.

Virgie is survived by her daughter, Carletta Barker (Larry Middleton) of Osage City; a brother, Gary Talkington, El Dorado; a sister, Margaret Holloman, Michigan Valley; and three grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 7, at the Sunset Lawn Cemetery, in El Dorado. Virgie will lie in state 3-7 p.m. Wednesday, at the Feltner Funeral Chapel, Lyndon.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the National Organization for Rare Disorders, sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Avenue, Lyndon, KS 66451.
