Culprit attempts break-in at Osage County gun store

The Osage County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information about two attempted break-ins at a gun store near Lyndon.

At approximately 11:23 p.m. Sunday, April 24, 2016, the sheriff’s office received a report of a business alarm at Sports Mart at 24131 S. US 75 Highway, Lyndon. Upon arrival to the location, officers discovered damage to exterior glass.

Early today, April 27, around 3:16 a.m., the sheriff’s office received another alarm at Sports Mart. Officers again found damage to an exterior glass door, but the culprit was unable to gain access to the building.

The sheriff’s office is asking anyone with information about the incidents to call the Osage County Sheriff’s Office at 785-828-3121 or Osage County Crime Stoppers at 877-OSCRIME. Callers can remain anonymous and possibly be eligible for a reward.

The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Osage City Police Department with the April 27 break-in attempt.
