Volleyball tournament ends in muddy mess

Mud volleyball, a favorite Burlingame rite of spring, muddied kids young and old during Saturday’s Rodeo Days. After just finishing a tournament game, the Red Hot Oompa Loompas pose for a photo while waiting for their turn at the water hose. Below, a portion of Sumner Park, reserved for the annual tournament, is turned into a sloppy mud pit to make a regulation playing field. Winners of the tournament were the Barncats, of Harveyville, with Jenny Roberts as captain of the team.
