By Dave Azwell

The Osage City Area Arts Council will present the Kansas Army National Guard Band in concert at 3 p.m. Sunday afternoon, June 26, 2016, in the Osage City High School auditorium, at Fifth and Ellinwood streets.

The Band of the Kansas National Guard has performed extensively throughout the Midwestern United States and traveled as musical ambassadors for the Department of State on several International tours.

The band, headquartered in Olathe, Kan., is composed of citizen-soldier musicians from Kansas and Missouri. Each year the band performs for thousands of people as a marching or concert band as well as jazz, rock, vocal or classical ensembles.

This marks the 11th performance by the band in Osage City. It always includes a special salute to veterans and their families.

Admission is free. Don’t miss this performance of military marches, patriotic music and big band selections.
