Osage County’s cutest babies line up for annual Sunflower Days baby show

Featured entertainment on the first night of Melvern’s Sunflower Days 4-H Fair will have the audience cooing as Osage County’s cutest babies take the stage and line up for the judges. The baby show will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 23, at Melvern Community Center.

Do you have a baby? Plan to participate in the Melvern baby show this year. Age brackets are 6 months and under, and 7 to 12 months. Babies will wear their diapers only. Prizes will be awarded for the winning babies. Do you know someone with a child younger than 12 months old? If so, tell them to come on out to the annual baby show.

Who doesn’t love babies? Everyone is invited to the always fun baby show. See last year’s winners here.

Spirit of America Parade

Organizers have promised a patriotic Sunflower Days parade, with the theme of “Spirit of America”. The parade will begin at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 25, 2016, in downtown Melvern.

Organizations, churches, school groups, businesses, families are encouraged to enter the parade to compete for cash prizes. Parade winners will collect $200 for the first place float, $125 for second place, and $75 for third place. Prizes will be awarded to floats only.

As is tradition, homemade ice cream will be available at the community center following the parade .
