The Lyndon Leaders 4-H Club kicked off a great summer by participating in the Melvern and Osage County fairs. During that time, members took advantage of conference judging as well as other Extension activities, such as family and consumer science and livestock judging. They learned a lot and had fun.

Not only did they take part in the fairs, but the club also helped with the Lyndon citywide cleanup. Members pulled weeds in the Lyndon School landscaping and began the wall project on Topeka Avenue by cleaning its surroundings.

Another exciting experience in June involved a number of Lyndon Leaders who had their first experience on the radio, when being interviewed on KOFO AM in Ottawa. They were asked questions such as, “Are you an officer? How long have you been in 4H?” and “What projects did you take to the fair?” Common answers were woodworking and visual arts. The participants enjoyed the opportunity and are looking forward to doing it again someday.
