With about 25 percent of Osage County’s registered voters casting ballots in the Aug. 2, 2016, primary election, some Republican officials were automatically elected to office due to no opposition, while several races were set for the general election for offices that had Democrat and Republican candidates. Races for county treasurer and register of deeds were also decided by the county’s registered Republicans. Lexie Fager was elected as treasurer with 1,021 votes over incumbent Shari Weber with 516 votes, and Tamara Tevis-Massey with 506. In the register of deeds race, incumbent Linda Massey won her longtime office with 1,222 votes against opponent Rose Hearn’s 803 votes.
Here are the unofficial results of local races in Tuesday’s primary election as provided by the Osage County Clerk’s Office. The top vote getters of each party will be on the ballot for the November general election, with write-in opportunities in uncontested races.
