Amber Alert: Missouri police seek suspect, missing child in possible abduction

Update 3:27 p.m.: At 3:18 p.m., the Missouri State Highway Patrol notified the KBI that the child had been found unharmed and is safe with family members in Missouri, and the suspect is at large. At 3:21 p.m., the KBI cancelled the AMBER Alert.


The Kansas Bureau of Investigation issued an Amber Alert at 2:27 p.m. today, Sept. 6, 2016, asking the public to be on alert for a 9-month-old Missouri child reportedly abducted by her father.

According to the alert, around 10:45 a.m. this morning, Syncere Lee Valliant, 9 months, was taken by force from her home in Independence, Mo., by her non-custodial father, Robert T. Valliant, 31. The child is believed to be in imminent danger.

Robert Valliant is described as a black male with black hair and brown eyes, 6 feet 1 inch tall, 170 pounds, with tattoos visible on his neck.

Syncere Valliant is described as having black hair and brown eyes, 2 feet 5 inches tall, and 25 pounds.

Police are searching for a Missouri black over red 2003 Pontiac Grand Am, with license tag number DL3V3F
