Richard Marquis, 57, Ottawa: Nov. 1, 1958 – Sept. 5, 2016

OTTAWA, Kan. – Richard Marquis, 57, passed away on Monday, Sept. 5, 2016, at the Ottawa Retirement Village, Ottawa, Kan. He was born Nov. 1, 1958, in Topeka, Kan., the son of Jerry and Eileen Tevis Marquis.

Richard grew up in Canton, Ill., and had lived in Hayden, Colo., before moving to Ottawa. He had worked as a hunting and fishing guide in Canton and Hayden, and had worked for Havens Steel and Select Steel in Ottawa as a welder.

Richard is survived by his four children, Dusty Marquis, Pomona, Kan., Carlie Marquis, of Arizona, Jason Marquis, Ottawa, and Keith Marquis, of Florida; his parents, Jerry and Eileen Marquis, Vassar, Kan.; a brother, Tony Marquis, and a sister, Jeri D. O’Brien, both of Canton; and three grandchildren.

Richard was cremated and a private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
