Melvern man injured in rollover accident on K-68

LYNDON, Kan. – A Melvern man was injured in a single-car accident Tuesday afternoon when his vehicle overturned on state Highway 68.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported that Clayton S. Carter, 40, Melvern, was driving a 1992 Chevrolet Suburban eastbound on K-68 about 1.7 miles east of U.S. Highway 75, when the vehicle drifted off onto the south shoulder, and crossed the road into the north ditch where it overturned once and came to rest on its wheels.

KHP’s report said Carter was disabled in the accident that happened around 4 p.m. Sept. 6, 2016, and was transported by ambulance to Stormont Vail Hospital, Topeka. Carter was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, the report said.
