Alta Rasmusson, 87, Lyndon: Nov. 15, 1928 – Sept. 11, 2016

LYNDON, Kan. – Alta Rasmusson, 87, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 11, 2016, at the Lexington Park Assisted Living Center, in Topeka, Kan. She was born on Nov. 15, 1928, in Zenda, Kan., the daughter of George and Fannie Tarr Fisher.

Alta had lived in Lyndon since 1967. She had worked in the Osage County Clerk’s office, for Lyndon Cleaners, and at the Giant Drive-In, in Lyndon. She had been on the Lyndon school board for several years, and was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Vassar, and the Osage County Republican Women’s Group.

On April 23, 1948 Alta was married to ReVoe “Doc” Rasmusson, in Wichita. She was preceded in death by “Doc” on Sept. 2, 2004.

Alta is survived by her two sons, Steve Rasmusson and David Rasmusson, both of Lyndon; her daughter, Karen Persinger of Atchison; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, at the Zion Lutheran Church, Vassar. Burial will be in the Vassar Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:30-8 p.m. Wednesday at Feltner Funeral Home, Lyndon.
