OCPR Update: Summer recreation winds down as fall arrives

OCPR-logo-redWith fall just around the corner, Osage City Parks and Recreation is getting ready for shorter days and evening recreation. Scheduling now are basic gymnastics and Tae Kwon Do classes.

Basic Gymnastics
Instructor Danielle Hallgren, Competitive Gymnast (10 years) and Gymnastic Instructor (5 years)

  • October 4, 11, 18, 25
  • Osage City Community Building, 517 South 1st Street (Jones Park).
  • Pre-K-1st Grade, 5-6 p.m.
  • 2nd-4th Grade, 6-7 p.m.
  • 5th-8th Grade, 7-8 p.m.
  • $40 per student.
  • A child’s grade is their grade for the 2016-2017 school year.
  • Gymnasts will learn stretching, gymnastic skills, technique, games, using safe equipment and having fun.
  • Class begins with each student running and jumping to get their heart rate up.
  • Stretching to prevent injury and loosen muscles.
  • Technique and balance warm-ups.
  • Students are expected to follow directions respecting our equipment and each other. If a student does not follow the directions he or she will be sat out.
  • Shorts and sweats, no shoes or socks on the equipment (bare feet during class), T-Shirt (tucked-in or a shirt that stays down while upside down).

Tae Kwon Do
Fall session, September 12-December 19

  • Little Ninjas (Age 5-7).
  • Monday, 6:30-7 p.m.
  • New student, $90 (with uniform & shirt).
  • Additional family member, $75.
  • Existing student, $60.
  • Additional family member, $50.

Open TKD Class (Age 8 & Above)

  • Monday, 7-8 p.m.
  • New student, $130 (with uniform & shirt).
  • Additional family member, $100.
  • Existing student, $90.
  • Additional family member, $70.

TKD Advanced Class

  • Monday, 8-8:30 p.m.
  • Price includes T-shirt and uniform for all new students, ITA membership for the new TKD students, and belt testing for all qualified students.
  • Existing TKD students may be required to renew their ITA membership and are evaluated individually (annual renewal fee).
