091516-2016-festivalofbeerBeer, beer and more beer. Sounds like a great time for people who like beer, doesn’t it? Well, if you are one of those types of people, you should know the Osage City Chamber of Commerce will be presenting its fourth annual beer tasting festival on the last Saturday of this month on Sept. 24, 2016. The festival is expected to offer dozens of varieties of craft and imported beers, including some Kansas brews, for beer aficionados to sample, consider and evaluate.

The ale fest event will be at Osage City Community Building, 517 S. First St., Osage City; the first suds samples will be poured at 3 p.m. with taps flowing, bottles uncapping, and can tabs popping until 6 p.m. Every beer taster will get a sample glass to take home.

A food vendor will also be available, and the afternoon beerfest will include live entertainment featuring the Bryton Stoll Band.

There will be a raffle table with drawings for craft beer related items and donated merchandise.

Tickets are $20 each in advance and a limited amount will be sold due to the building’s capacity; at the door, tickets are $25. Attendees must be 21 to enter. Tickets can be purchased at several area businesses, including Stark Car Wash, Jerry’s Thriftway and Bank of Osage City, all at Osage City, and Mulready’s at Emporia, and can be obtained at brownpaperticket.com. Ticket information is also available from Jim Lohmeyer, 785-217-7615, and Becky Siljenberg, 785-217-7342.
