OCPR Update: Run, jump, tumble while learning basic gymnastics

OCPR-logo-redStudents through eighth grade are invited to tumble on down to Osage Parks and Recreation for basic gymnastics classes beginning in October; fall youth football is underway with more games scheduled. See below for more information about OCPR’s fall activities:

Basic Gymnastics
Instructor Danielle Hallgren, competitive gymnast (10 years) and gymnastic instructor (5 years)

  • October 4, 11, 18, 25
  • Osage City Community Building, 517 S. First St. (Jones Park)
  • Pre-K-1st Grade, 5-6pm
  • 2nd-4th Grade, 6-7pm
  • 5th-8th Grade, 7-8pm
  • $40 per student
  • A child’s grade is their grade for the 2016-2017 school year
  • Gymnasts will learn stretching, gymnastic skills, technique, games, using safe equipment and having fun.
  • Class begins with each student running and jumping to get their heart rate up
  • Stretching to prevent injury and loosen muscles
  • Technique and balance warm-ups
  • Students are expected to follow directions respecting our equipment and each other. If a student does not follow the directions he/she will be sat out.
  • Shorts and sweats, no shoes or socks on the equipment (bare feet during class), T-shirt (tucked-in or a shirt that stays down while upside down)
