Vassar Blue Ribbon 4-H elects officers for upcoming year

Vassar Blue Ribbon 4-H Club met on Oct. 3, at 7 p.m., at the Vassar community building. President Dalton Hook called the meeting to order with the club reciting the Pledge of Allegiance and 4-H pledge. Members answered roll call with “what are you dressing up for Halloween?”

The minutes from the previous meeting were read by Maddie Seacat. Jenise Hook gave a report on the Vassar Fun Fest on Oct. 29. The club moved and voted to work at the concession stand. Melissa Seacat gave the leaders report stating that achievement night will be held on Nov. 5.

Under old business the club finalized plans for the VBR scholarship. Then the club decided on officer elections for the coming year: President, Maddie Seacat; vice president, Annabelle Moore; secretary, Madison Smitha; treasurer, Dalton Hook; historian, Kaitlyn Moore; reporter, Addyson Easter; recreation, Savannah Davis; junior president, Casten Wirth; and junior secretary, Mariah Smitha.

Song leader and junior vice president were not decided upon at this time. The club sang “You are my Sunshine” led by Annabelle Moore. Kyler Anschutz moved the meeting be adjourned, seconded by Casten Wirth. Meeting was adjourned.

Casten Wirth led the club in a game of Red Light, Green Light. Snacks and drinks were provided by Madelyn and Melissa Seacat.
