Kenneth H. Lippert, 73, Osage City: June 14, 1943 – Oct. 18, 2016

OSAGE CITY, Kan. – Kenneth H. Lippert, 73, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2016, at Peterson’s Nursing Home, Osage City, Kan. He was born on June 14, 1943, in Wichita, Kan., the son of Harlan and Bertha Pankratz Lippert.

Ken grew up in Lyndon, Kan., and had lived in Wichita for a time before moving back to rural Osage City in 1979.

Ken graduated from Lyndon High School and received an associate degree in mortuary science. He worked as a custom cutter for four years, worked eight years as a funeral director and embalmer for Crable Funeral Home in Osage City, then seven years for the Metropolitan Topeka Airport Authority in Topeka, Kan., as a police officer and firefighter, then 12 years with the Osage County Sheriff’s Department as an undersheriff and sheriff. He had served as a 4-H leader for 15 years, and was a member of the Kansas Funeral Directors Association and the National Funeral Directors Association.

On Oct. 16, 1970, Ken was married to Janet Alexander in Wichita, Kan. Ken was preceded in death by Jan on July 31, 2011.

Ken is survived by his daughter, Retta (Marty) Evans, of Hoover, Ala.; a brother, Ray Lippert, Lyndon; and a grandson, Zachary Evans, Hoover.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, at the Feltner Funeral Chapel, in Lyndon. Burial will be in the Osage City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
