Sheriff searches for hit and run suspect
The Osage County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information about this Toyota Celica and its driver, a suspect in a hit-and-run.
Update Nov. 9, 2016: Osage County Sheriff Laurie Dunn has reported that the suspect vehicle Toyota Celica was recovered in Topeka Monday night. The Celica had been reported stolen prior to the Oct. 31 incident on Shawnee Heights Road in Osage County. The sheriff said no suspect has been identified in the case. The Osage County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information about a suspect that struck a car with his car as he left a residence north of Overbrook this morning.
According to the sheriff’s office, at approximately 9:55 a.m. today, while a resident was at home in the 13100 block of Shawnee Heights Road, a man was seen in the area near the garage. He was described as a white male in his early 20s, wearing blue jeans and gray T-shirt.
The suspect left the residence after striking the victim’s vehicle with his white Toyota Celica. The vehicle has KSU power cat front plate, spoiler and sunroof. The victim photographed the vehicle involved as the suspect left, headed northbound on Shawnee Heights Road.
