Frontier Extension 4-H retires country’s colors during twilight ceremony

Caleb Fisher, Burg-Go-Getters 4-H Club, Maddie Montgomery, Vassar Blue Ribbon 4-H Club, Kendra Sprague, Star Shooting 4-H Club, and Dalton Hook, Vassar Blue Ribbon 4-H Club, prepare to retire a flag.

On Nov. 9, 2016, participants in the Frontier Extension District 4-H Youth Development Program met at Ottawa University Lodge, at Pomona Lake, to hold a flag retirement ceremony. Seventy 4-H and family members from across the district came together to retire 75 flags. The flag retirement ceremony was held in honor of our veterans and our country.

With assistance from members of the Ottawa VFW, the Extension district’s Citizenship Washington Focus 4-H members, including Jacob Anderson, Nocona Brinkley, Caitlyn Craig, Sarah Face, Caleb Fisher, Bailey Longstaff, Shaylee Meier, Maddie Montgomery, Shyanne Shogrin and Kendra Sprague, performed the ceremony.

Frontier Extension District serves Anderson, Franklin and Osage counties.
