Two men killed in overnight rollover accident, found Saturday morning

Two men were killed in a single-vehicle accident in rural Osage County sometime Friday night or early Saturday morning.

According to Kansas Highway Patrol report, Luke Adam Jones, 32, of Scranton, Kan., was driving a 1997 Toyota 4Runner eastbound on 213th Road, when for an unknown reason, the vehicle left the roadway to the left, returned to the roadway, and overturned an unknown number of times before coming to rest in a field.

Jones and a passenger in the vehicle, Scott Wayne Stewart, 31, Checotah, Okla., were both killed in the accident. The report said neither man was wearing a seatbelt.

KHP reported the time the accident happened was unknown, except that it was between 5:30 p.m. Friday and 6:28 a.m. Saturday when it was reported. The accident happened in a rural area of Osage County, on a gravel road, 213th Road, about a 1/4 mile west of South Fairlawn Road.
