Osage City Kiwanis says thanks for community’s Toys for Tots efforts

The Osage City Kiwanis wants to say “Thanks!” to all who participated in the Toys for Tots toy campaign. A first time event for the club, it resulted in nearly 600 toys being donated. It was a collective effort of the Osage City Kiwanis, the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve and the Marine Corps League.

Osage City Kiwanian and Marine Corps League member, Dick Allison, along with Kiwanis members and friends spearheaded the drive to collect toys for the kids.

We want to thank the following drop off sites: Dollar General, McCoy’s, Osage City Public Library, Osage City schools, State Farm Insurance, ECKAN (East Central Kansas Economic Opportunity Corporation) and Edward Jones. Many individuals also provided time and labor in the collection, processing and distribution of toys.

Toys were given to a number of children in the library community room on a cold, near-blizzard afternoon on Dec. 17. The remaining toys were donated to ECKAN for further distribution to local children.
