Totman spotlighted by national beer association
OSAGE CITY, Kan. – Flint Hills Beverage has announced that Gail “Ed” Totman, operations manager, has been recognized in the National Beer Wholesalers Association Employee Spotlight Program. Totman began working for Flint Hills Beverage in 1975 as a route salesman.
“Ed has been a 41-year dedicated employee and will retire [as of the end of 2016] as operations manager for the last 30 years,” said Flint Hills Beverage owner Casey Mussatto. “As operations manager, he oversees all building, vehicle and equipment maintenance, property/health/disability insurance administration and inventory management.
“His excellent sales forecasts of Anheuser-Busch InBev products have kept us and our customers in stock with fewer out of stocks,” Mussatto said. “In fact, he has been the number one sales forecaster in Kansas for over 28 years.”
NBWA CEO Craig Purser noted that many beer distribution companies are family owned and operated, and many of these businesses operate as an extended family.
“NBWA’s Employee Spotlight Program recognizes these standout employees who are the face of the American beer industry in their communities,” Purser said.
America’s more than 3,000 independent beer distribution facilities employ 135,000 people in communities across the country. Flint Hills Beverage has locations in Osage City and Manhattan, Kan., and has 45 employees.
