TOPEKA, Kan. – Loadia K. Moon, 60, Topeka, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2017. She was born October 9, 1956, in Topeka, the daughter of Alvin and Mary Garrett Brown.
She lived in Topeka most of her life. She worked in housekeeping at several Topeka area nursing homes. She also worked at the Eagles Lodge as a waitress. She enjoyed playing bingo whenever and wherever she could. Loadia loved her dogs, especially Chiquita and Roscoe.
She was married to Glenn Moon on May 21, 1983, in Topeka. He survives at their home in Topeka.
Other survivors include her children, Tammy Moon and Walter O’Handlen, Topeka, Rick Moon and Peggy Lang, Lyndon, Tracy and John Shirley, Osage City, Lara and Rueben Lin, Carson, Calif.; adopted daughter Charlene Stewart; siblings, Christina and Jeff Payne, Scranton, Conway and Cathy Brown, Emporia, and Patty Brown, Topeka; 13 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Loadia in death are her parents; son, Patrick L. Moon; and siblings, Danny K. Brown, Guy D. Brown and Diane L. Brown-Sterling.
A memorial service will be held at Highland Park Baptist Church at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 21.
