Smile, winter’s almost over and Girl Scout cookies are going on sale

Girl Scouts have fun while getting ready for cookie sales.

While last Sunday might have been the most awaited kickoff of the New Year, the Girl Scout Cookie sales kickoff probably makes just as many people happy. Local Girl Scouts will begin their annual cookie sales with a kickoff event 6-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10, 2017, at the Anderson Building, Lyon County Fairgrounds.

The free event is to help scouts and their parents prepare for a successful cookie sale. There will be crafts, snacks, door prizes, games, and an opportunity for scouts to practice their sales pitches. Girl Scout Cookie sales begin Saturday, Feb. 11.
