SCRANTON, Kan. – Dolores Wanda (Richman) Winans, 79, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2017, at her home near Scranton, Kan. She was born on June 30, 1937, in Waterford Township, Michigan, the daughter of Malinda (Martin) Richman and Harold Richman.
Wanda attended Milford Schools and later obtained her GED. She worked as a medical assistant and receptionist for Dr. Robert Durst, in Topeka, Kan., for more than 30 years. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 2709.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, Malinda and Harold; a son, Edward Hollingdale; and five brothers, Chuck Sutton, Harvey Richman, Donald Richmond, Norman Richman and LaVerne Richmond.
Wanda is survived by her husband of 48 years, Carl F. Winans, of the home; three daughters, Dawn Bigford, Scranton, Carol (John) Dorr, Burlingame, Kan., Wendy (David) Robert, Osage City, Kan.; daughter-in-law, Annette Hollingdale, Topeka; two brothers, Delos (Diane) Richmond, Topeka, and Gary Richmond, Fountain, Colo.; sister, Nancy (Eddy) Kline, Burlingame; and nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 4, at the Carbondale Church of Christian Fellowship, 430 Commercial St., Carbondale, Kan. Burial will follow in the Valley Brook Cemetery, south of Overbrook. The family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 3, at Feltner Funeral Home, Lyndon, Kan.
