  • 8 a.m.-5 p.m. BBQ team check in – OCPR Building, Jones Park
  • Noon-7 p.m. BBQ Bucks sales – Community Building, Jones Park. Buy BBQ Bucks in advance until Friday at Osage City Hall, 201 S. Fifth St., or Edward Jones, 516 Market St., Osage City.
  • 5 p.m. – Taste of Osage City – Jones Park
  • 5:30 p.m. – Kids-Q Cooks meeting – Community Building
  • 6:15 p.m. – BBQ team Cooks meeting – Community Building
  • 8 p.m. – Kids-Q Turn-In – Community Building
  • 8 p.m.-midnight – Live music with Just Passin’ Through – OCPR Building

Saturday, April 8

  • 10 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. – BBQ judge check in
  • 8:30-11 a.m. – Cruis’n and Cook’n Car Show registration – downtown Osage City
  • 9 a.m.-noon – Young Eagles Rally, Osage City Airport, kids eight to 17 fly free. By the Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 1535.
  • 10:30 a.m. – 11:15 a.m. BBQ judge meeting
  • 11:30 a.m. – Cook’s Choice category turn in
  • 12 p.m. – Chicken Class turn-in
  • 12:30 p.m. – Ribs Class turn-in
  • 1 p.m. – Pork butt turn-in
  • 1:30 p.m. – Brisket turn-in
  • 2 p.m. – Dessert turn-in
  • 2:30 p.m. – Cruis’n and Cook’n Car Show awards – downtown Osage City
  • 5 p.m. Smoke in the Spring awards ceremony – OCPR Building

    Prospect Bluegrass performed downtown Osage City from 12 to 3:00 on Saturday during the car show. I have not seen that mentioned. Bill Tillman, B.J. Tillman, Will Tillman and Colton Tillman are from ElDorado, KS and were joined by Bill Persinger who grew up in Osage City and Don Shaw whom everyone in Osage City knows playing washboard.. The Tillman boys are our grandsons and great grandson and Don Shaw is our Son in Law. Bill Tillman was a Sheriff's Deputy in Osage County for several years.
