Minor flooding forecast Monday along Salt Creek at Lyndon

Look out, Lyndon, the creek is rising again! The National Weather Service in Topeka has issued a flood warning for Salt Creek near Lyndon. The warning is in effect this afternoon to late tonight. At 9:01 a.m. Monday, the stage was 6.9 feet; flood stage is 10 feet. Minor flooding is expected with Salt Creek forecast to rise above flood stage by this afternoon and continue to rise to near 10.2 feet by this afternoon. The creek will fall below flood stage by this afternoon. Impact at 10 feet includes minor low land flooding in farm field just west of the U.S. Highway 75 bridge, at the south edge of Lyndon.
