April showers and Lions Club bring farmers market to Carbondale

The Carbondale Lions Club is bringing a farmers market opportunity to Carbondale for area producers, beginning in late May.

Items allowed at the Carbondale market must be vendor-grown or vendor-produced.  Items may include fresh fruits and vegetables, live plants, and foods processed by the vendor, such as baked items, honey, and farm-fresh eggs. Craft items must also be vendor-produced. No live animals are allowed to be sold or to be in a vendor booth.

The Carbondale Farmers Market will begin Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at City Park, and will be held 4-6:30 p.m. every Wednesday through September, depending a continuing availability of vendors and their products.

Vendors are asked to register by the Monday before each Wednesday market. Season pass fees are $10 to help with promotional items. Walk up fees are $5 per week, with walk up vendors allowed at the discretion of the market manager.
