Commuters and visitors to Topeka are reminded that pothole patching in areas along both westbound and eastbound Interstate 470 in Topeka from Burlingame Road west to Fairlawn Road is continuing for the next three weeks. Lane reductions and ramp closures will be scheduled during that time, according to the Kansas Department of Transportation.
The current work schedule, weather permitting, will affect these locations:
- June 26 – Eastbound I-470 from Gage Boulevard to Burlingame, lane reduction.
- June 27-28 – Westbound I-470 from U.S. 75 interchange to Gage, center two lanes closed.
- June 29 – Westbound I-470 from U.S. 75 interchange to Gage, the Gage exit ramp will be closed and a lane reduced.
- July 6-7 – Westbound I-470 from Gage to Fairlawn, entrance ramp from Gage to I-470 will be closed and a lane reduced.
- July 10-14 – Westbound I-470 from Gage to Fairlawn, lane reduction.
Repair work will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday to Friday. There will be no speed limit restrictions, but motorists are asked to use extra caution in the work zone.
