Kimberly Jean Heuer, 37, Melvern: April 7, 1980 – Aug. 5, 2017

MELVERN, Kan. – Kimberly Jean Heuer, 37, passed away Saturday, Aug. 5, 2017, at her home in Lawrence, Kan. She was born on April 7, 1980, in Lawrence, the daughter of David and Stella Franks Heuer.

Kim had lived most of her life in the Melvern and Quenemo, Kan., communities before moving to Lawrence.

Kim went to school at Hawthorne Elementary School, Ottawa, Kan., Springfield School, Michigan City, Ind., and graduated from Marias des Cygnes Valley High School, Melvern, in 1999. In the last few years she had been sick and had battled health and medical conditions. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Michigan City.

Kim is survived by her son, Joseph Heuer, of Melvern; her parents, David and Stella Heuer, Melvern; three sisters, Michelle Stroud, Olathe, Kan., Alicia Syens, Lebo, Kan., and Nevada Forrer, Topeka, Kan.; and seven nieces and five nephews.

Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 2, at Feltner Funeral Chapel, Lyndon, Kan. The family will receive friends one half hour prior to services at the chapel.  Inurnment will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Pomona, Kan.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Kim Heuer Memorial Fund, for final expenses, sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Ave., Lyndon, KS 66451.
