Frances M. Lira, 103, Osage City: Oct. 10, 1913 – Aug. 24, 2017

OSAGE CITY, Kan. – Frances M. Lira, 103, passed away Thursday, Aug. 24, 2017, at her home in Osage City, Kan. Francsica Morena Lira was born Oct. 10, 1913, in San Franciso de Rencon, Mexico, the daughter of Nicholas Lira and Gabriella Moreno.

Frances’ family moved to the United States when she was two years old. Frances was a housekeeper the majority of her life. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and Altar Society, in Osage City.

She will be forever remembered by her brother, Timoteo “Tim” Lira, of Osage City, and many nieces and nephews.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Frank, Margarieto, Jacinto “Cassie” Lira, and three sisters, Mary Lira, Jessie Aguirre and Tremida Lira.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Aug. 28, 2017, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 309 S. Sixth St., Osage City. A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Sunday, at the church. Family will receive friends after the rosary. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Osage City.
