OCPR Update: October tumbles in as gymnastics classes start jumping

OCPR-logo-redOsage City Parks and Recreation is laying down the mats for the upcoming gymnastics classes, which will keep gymnasts jumping and tumbling in October and November. Here are the details:

Gymnastics

Instructor Danielle Hallgren, competitive gymnast (10 years) and gymnastic instructor (6 years)

OCPR Building, 517 S. First St., Jones Park, Osage City.

Parents, like “Dani’s Gymnastics” Facebook page to know whether to sign your student up for the Level 1, 2, or 3 class and class updates and more class information.

Toddler (age 2-3) and Pre-School (age 4-5)

  • Wednesday or Thursday class dates
  • October 11, 12, 18, 19, 25, 26, and November 1, 2, 8, 9, 15, 16
  • Toddler class, 4-4:30 p.m.; pre-school class, 4:30-5 p.m.
  • $30 total per student

Level 1 class, 5-6 p.m., and Level 2 class, 6-7 p.m.

  • Wednesday, October 11, 18, 25 and November 1, 8, 15
  • $60 total per student
  • Level 3 class 5-6 p.m.
  • Thursday, October 12, 19, 26 and November 2, 9, 16
  • $60 total per student

All group recital will be on November 18, Osage City Community Building. A child’s grade is their grade for the 2017-2018 school year.

Gymnasts will learn stretching, gymnastic skills, technique, games, using safe equipment and having fun. Class begins with each student running and jumping to get their heart rate up; stretching to prevent injury and loosen muscles; technique and balance warm-ups.

Students are expected to follow directions respecting our equipment and each other. If a student does not follow the directions he or she will be sat out. Shorts and sweats, no shoes or socks on the equipment (bare feet during class), T-shirt (tucked-in or a shirt that stays down while upside down).
