With fall here, Lyndon plans to celebrate with day of fun

Fall has officially arrived and the Lyndon community is inviting everyone to celebrate during the annual Lyndon Fall Fest on Saturday, Oct. 7, 2017.

The Osage County Courthouse lawn is the center of festivities, and Lyndon Pride and the city of Lyndon are the hosts to the event that includes a craft and vendor fair and a multitude of fun games for kids of all ages. In addition, the celebration features a touch-a-truck opportunity, student art show, silent auction of all kinds of unique items, classic fair food, and the ever popular coins in the corn with cash prizes. All proceeds benefit Lyndon Pride.

The Saturday celebration gets underway at 9 a.m. Oct. 7, and will wind down about 3 p.m. The whole family is invited to enjoy the fall day in Lyndon, Kan.

Here is the schedule from Lyndon Pride:

9am-3pm Craft and Vendor Fair Check out the products and handmade crafts brought to you by your fellow community members, help support local businesses!

10am-3pm Bounce House Obstacle Course Think you have what it takes? Come find out!

Soccer Darts Get a “kick” out of this game. A twist on the game of darts!

Pumpkin painting Show off your painting skills!

Glitter Tattoos Don’t worry mom, it’s only temporary, besides glitter is fabulous!

Pop Toss May the winds be in your favor! Toss a ring and hook a pop to win it!

Hole-N-One Try your aim with this one! Get the ball in the hole and win a prize!

Football Throw Down! Set! HUT! Test your skills and see if YOU could be Lyndon’s next quarterback!

Pumpkin Chuckin’ Chuck the pumpkin in the basket, and pick a prize!

Pumpkin Bowling No bumpers to help you now! Roll that pumpkin for a strike!

The “Launcher” How far can you launch a frog or a pumpkin?

Chicken in the Pot I kid you not, throw that chicken in the pot! Win a prize!

Minnow Races Pick your minnow, pick a lane, READY, SET GO!

10am – 2pm

Student Art Show Fall inspired works by our own Lyndon students and sponsored by the Lyndon Alumni Association.

Touch a Truck Every kid’s dream, fireman for a day! Touch the buttons, climb the trucks, have fun putting out the fire!

Silent Auction Plenty of great things to bid on! Auction ends at 2 p.m.

10am, 12pm, 2pm – Coins in the corn $100 cash prizes in each round is up for grabs and who knows what other goodies await you!

11am-3pm

Food Court Hamburgers, hot dogs provided by Euclid Lodge 101 and walking tacos by the Lyndon Carnegie Library.

Classic Favorites Cotton candy, kettle corn and funnel cakes! Try them all!
