LEBO, Kan. – Imogene Iva Deal, 86, passed away Saturday, Oct. 7, 2017, at Coffey County Hospital, Burlington, Kan. She was born Nov. 14, 1930, in Quenemo, Kan., the daughter of Marlin and Rosa Brinsfield Green.
She was raised in Quenemo and attended Quenemo High School. She worked as a meat cutter at By-Lo Foods in Topeka, Kan., for six years before taking a job with Volume Shoes, at Topeka. Jean worked as a sales audit analyst for 20 years before retiring in 2001. She moved to Lebo in 2015 after living at the South Village Court in South Topeka for 15 years.
Jean married Bob Catlin on December 29, 1949, in Quenemo. They were later divorced.
She will live on in the hearts of her daughter, Debra S. Neill and her husband, Charles, of Olivet, Kan.; sons, Rick D. Catlin and his wife, Deb, Shoshoni, Wyo., and Rob D. Catlin, Oklahoma City, Okla.; sisters, Fay Williams, Pawhuska, Okla., and Maxine Lloyd and her husband, Stan, of Pennsylvania; brother, Clarence Green, Quenemo; and seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Jean was preceded in death by three brothers, Everett, Buck and Lawrence; and a great-granddaughter, Aspen.
A celebration of her life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, at Jones VanArsdale Funeral Home, 107 W. Sixth St., Lebo, Kan. Burial will follow services at Alpine Cemetery, near Olivet.
