No burn day: No outside burning allowed

RED-FLAGAll Osage County burn permits have been suspended for today, Oct. 23, 2017, per Osage County Emergency Management. The agency has declared this as a “no burn day”, during which no outside burning is allowed.

The National Weather Service has predicted very high fire danger today, and set the rangeland fire danger index in the very high category for this afternoon. Very high fire danger means fire control will be very difficult and require extended effort.

The burn ban will expire at 8 a.m. Oct. 24, 2017, unless extended. For more information, contact Bryce Romine, Osage County Emergency Management director, at 785-828-3323.
