All Osage County burn permits have been suspended for today, Oct. 30, 2017, per Osage County Emergency Management. The agency has declared this as a “no burn day”, during which no outside burning is allowed.
The National Weather Service has predicted northwest wind at 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph causing high fire danger today. NWS has set the rangeland fire danger index in the very high category.
Very high fire danger means fire control will be very difficult and require extended effort.
The burn ban will expire at 8 a.m. Oct. 31, 2017, unless extended.
