Burn ban today: Outside burning prohibited in Osage County

All outdoor burning is prohibited in Osage County today, Saturday, Dec. 16, 2017, after the National Weather Service has predicted breezy and weather. Osage County Emergency Management has suspended all local burn permits.

The rangeland fire danger index will be in the very high category this afternoon. Very high fire danger means fire control will be very difficult and require extended effort.

NWS has forecast it will be sunny today with a high near 61, and breezy with a south wind 15 to so mph, with gusts as high as 3o mph.

The burn ban means no outside burning is allowed in Osage County today. The ban will be in effect until 8 a.m. Dec. 17, 2017, unless it is extended.
